Ms. Pettigrew has been
teaching art in Florida public schools for over twenty-five years. She has
been teaching at
Kimball Wiles Elementary School
in Gainesville, Florida for over seventeen years as well as teaching
private art lessons.
Ms. Pettigrew has been a strong voice
in the Gainesville art community involved in workshops for teachers,
students, and other artists while showing her work in the Gainesville area,
Charlotte, North Carolina, and New York
City, New York. She has co produced two festivals, chaired on the board of
the International Creativity Center, and was a co
writer of the
Harn Museum of Art’s
ExplorAsia manual for teachers. Ms.
